The dopey Colorado dad behind the "balloon boy" hoax of 2009 is trying to sell his makeshift flying saucer for $1 million.
In a video posted to YouTube last week, Richard Heene says he's auctioning off the infamous runaway silver balloon to help tsunami victims in Japan.
"We thought, how can we help out?" Heene says in the video. "We can't with our hands, but we have something we think could help."
Heene says that lawyer Perry Rausher of Calabasas, Calif., is handling the sale.

A website, ballonboyflyingsaucer.com, offers a "purchase now" price of $1 million. The auction ends on June 7.
"Mr. Rausher will then write a check to a selected charitable organization that is helping the Japanese cause," the site says. "The Heene family will not receive anything from the sale."

Heene and his family set off a panic that captured the nation's attention in October 2009 after they claimed their 6-year-old son, Falcon, had floated away from their Fort Collins home in the homemade craft.
Investigators called the saga a hoax, saying Heene cooked up the stunt to land a reality show about his family's gonzo science experiments.
Heene doesn't mention the dupe in the video - or the 90 days in jail he served for wasting millions in government resources during the bizarre odyssey.
The wacky inventor instead suggests that the lucky winner could use the balloon to travel to and from work. A casino or a hotel could also feature it as a tourist attraction, he says.
Falcon appears briefly at the end of the video, sporting a shaggy 'do and singing a song with his brothers in Japanese.
