If you want to photograph Stephanie Matusiefski, something bad has probably happened.

His photo was chosen to hang in the emergency room at Swedish Hospital in Issaquah new.

"It's kind of exciting to see your work in a hospital and to add to the art scene in Issaquah," said Matusiefski, a graduate of the 2011 Eastside Catholic High School.

Matusiefski is one of 32 students - three Eastside Catholic - have displayed their work at the hospital.

His photo is titled "Get in Nature."

In order to select pieces for display, the hospital held the Swedish project Issaquah community art, a competition called for entries in the local youth.

Swedish specialty communications Kozimor Natalie said they wanted to have people submit art to the community can help the environment here at Swedish.

After the presentation, a graphic designer in Sweden adjusted some colors in the photo Matusiefski. The original was more natural, Matusiefski said.

She was invited to participate in the competition by his art teacher at Eastside Catholic.

Megan McDermott, AP studio art teacher, convinced 11 Eastside Catholic students to submit a total of 27 pieces in the competition. Four pieces of art from three of these students have been selected for permanent installation.

"I have many pictures I took for my wallet," said Matusiefski. "It was just a fun thing to do in the competition."

McDermott said she felt a sense of honor when she heard that her students were selected to represent the arts community and school.

"I am so happy to have my students permanent works of art displayed. They all worked so hard and deserve the recognition they have received. It will be a great reminder of Stephanie, Alli and Shannon last year of the ECHS in our class and AP Studio Art. "Said McDermott.
