Weather:  The weather was great! Even when the forecast predicts rain every day, you will most  likely see sunshine. It only rained one day out of 8.  The forecast looked pretty grim but we experienced more sun than a person can handle.  It is hot in Mexico this time of the year but I guess it isn’t as bad as home right now. 

Ocean:  The ocean at Sensatori does have seaweed. If you’ve read any reviews, this area of the Riviera, near Puerto Morelos, has seaweed at different times of the year.  If you are a beach person, you might worry about staying here. However, the Azul Sensatori provides a complimentary transfer over to Maroma Paradise several days a week. This is located at Maroma Beach, one of the top beaches in the world. It’s a great deal.  You get to experience a fabulous beach and also have options to do world-class watersports. We did the waverunners and the cost was $55/30 minutes for up to 2 people.  It is an organized tour so you will not have free reign of the seas. This is designed to protect the reefs and those that are snorkeling in the area. There is a restaurant there and also a bar, so you have pretty much everything you need.

Safety:  I know everyone is concerned about Mexico and safety. We took my god daughters, age 10 and 14,  over to the town of Puerto Morelos and walked the streets in little shops and then went over to some local restaurants for a snack and drinks. Not a trouble in the world. Locals were swimming and hanging by the beach, playing at the local playground and moving to and fro. We also took them shopping in Cancun at La Isla and the only trouble there are the mall vendors that are hawking their wares from kiosks set amidst the upscale retail stores.  Aside from seeing the policia at roadside traffic checks, there is nothing going on here   I had a rental car all week and drove everywhere without problems.

Wet N Wild:  We decided that it would be cool to have the kids visit the waterpark in Cancun, so the 6 of us crammed in the rental car and went to Wet N Wild. They have some really cool waterslides, a lazy river, wave pool, bumper boats, and more. The amazing thing? It’s all inclusive!  You pay one price ($49/adult and less for kids under 12) and meals and drinks are included along with the water activities. There is a dolphin experience next door where the prices range from $79 to $129 per person depending upon the level of interaction.  A great time was had by all! I did the majority of the waterslides and had just as much fun as the kids.
