Weekend auto racing preview
ON TRACK The “Must See X-Treme Sprint Cars” are a featured attraction. They tear up the track with their speed, so they are fun to watch. Combine those with a regular night of racing for the Late Models (50 laps), Super Stocks (35 laps) and Pro Stocks (25 laps) and, weather permitting, it should be a pretty good night of racing in Marne. ON TRACK On Saturday, the Outlaw Super Late Models will run the Lane 75; the Modifieds will run the “Big Gun 50,” the Pro Stocks are in the Spring Fling 35 and the Cyber Stocks have something called the “Goat Roper 25.” Racing begins at 7 p.m. On Sunday, it’s more racing with USA Modifieds running a “King of the Modifieds” race along with MCR Dwarf Cars, Vintage Racing Organization of America classic cars and Mini-Cup cars.Ama District 16 - News

Id prolly make the ones closer to me, but the illinois and michigan ones are a drive for me. Maybe the MI ones if we go camping that weekend. I got to try my first one tho. Can you register for a membership at the events to race or do you have to do it ahead of time? Im really looking forward to trying it. How does the class system work for quads? Is it all one group or do they seperate the a,b,c classes? I used to race D16 harescrambles. tracks are usually very hilly with log crossings. and most are only about 1/5th mx. when i raced the classes were just AA,A,B,C, and utility. all were open. Also the guy who used to run D16 started his own series RPA. Its WIXC. im hoping to do one or two this year. I also believe in this series he has a trail rider class which is just for people only doing one or two races so you do not need to buy any cards, but that was last season Hey your lucky, your in the middle of most of the Wixc races. I got to call the guy who runs it today as Im more worried about prices to start, seemed pretty cheap tho like 20 to 60 per race IIRC. I just dont like the AMA thing because if I dont like HS, i just bought a membership for nothing. Well hopefully he tells me something that peaks my interest and maybe Ill see you at a race or two. I guess I never thought of the AMA like that. Its not that its too expensive or being ungrateful to what they do, its just that if Im not going to race in an AMA race its like having a memebership to a gym and not going. If hs is something I like, I may eventually race in district 16 under AMA next year or later this year. Im just very unsure if this type of sport is for me.
