Buick Lacrosse eAssist to launch in third quarter

GM are getting ready to launch their second mild hybrid in the Chinese market, the first of course being the last generation Buick Lacrosse which came in mild hybrid form for the Olympics and World Expo events in Beijing and Shanghai. According to reports the eAssist model will be priced just 20,000rmb more than the regular version of the Lacrosse.

The eAssist will be based on the 2.4L four cylinder engine in the Lacrose and will carry 115v worth of li-ion in the trunk to give the Lacrosse a 15kW boost. The electric motor will be able to deliver 15bhp which will be enough to power the car around town under electric power, once out of juice the Lacrosse can flip over to gasoline power without any interruption, the eAssist model also has a stop/start system to cut out engine power when the car reaches a stop.

The good news is that the price may increase by just 20,000rmb for the eAssist version, the bad news is that trunk space has decreased by 10l (70 to 60 liters) to make space for the batteries.

SHIPPING AND DELIVERY:: While I will not make “any” arrangements with your shippers, I will, at my expense, move the unit to my front driveway, secure it to a pallet and tape a single layer of cardboard over it (required by many carriers) . You must make ALL your own arrangements with a common carrier of your choice to have it picked up from there. Overland express has forklifts on their tractor trailers and they have done this for others who have purchased from me in the past. Other companies use smaller trucks to pickup and deliver to their terminals in Miami and Fort Lauderdale.   

I can not keep the item in my drive for more than a week (7 days),(fines) so I will not move it to the front until you email me confirming your pick-up window with your carrier. If the item isn’t picked within the 7 days you will be charge 25 dollars a day it remains there after the 7 days (and/or 100 dollars to move it back behind the house and back to the front when you are ready. Sorry but some past customers have taken advantage and I paid the price.
