Jericho to study acting in New York?

WOODSIDE, NY- Fresh from the successful run of the teleserye "Green Rose" and a sold out screening of "Subject: I Love You" at the Newport Beach Film Festival in California, Jericho Rosales is looking forward to more opportunities.

Rosales, who was also given a special award for "Outstanding Achievement in Acting" at the Newport film fest, said the movie opened up opportunities not only for him but for other Filipinos to get into the mainstream movie industry.

"Nakita nila na may market ‘yong Filipino and we're really hoping sana na they see the potential na malaki ang market ng Filipino all around the world. We can actually penetrate the international scene, 'di ba?" he said.

The Kapamilya star checked out the New York Film Academy where he is planning to take a month-long course in acting to get ready for a possible Hollywood career.

"I'm going to study. I'm going to see how it works here, kung papaano sa LA, paano dito sa New York, paano sa America basically. That's just me. I just wanna keep on learning. I just wanna expand," said Rosales.

The versatile actor is also planning to launch an international singing career.

The theme song he wrote and sang for the teleserye "Green Rose" was a big hit during the TFC Hour held on Philippine Independence Day.

Rosales said if all his plans push through, his fans will get to see more of him in New York and in Hollywood in the next few months.

I'd appreciate if someone could give me an advice here. I am currently on the 6th year of H1B. It is expiring on Jan 31, 2008. Technically I will need a 7th year extension. My Labor Certification for Green Card (EB2, PD: Dec, 2002) was approved back in July, 07 and I filed I-140 and I-485 concurrently in the end of July. So far I have not received a receipt or anything back from them. I got my EAD through my primary Employer. I am currently working on EAD but with a different Employer (NY State Agency) who doesn�t encourage GC processing, so did not file my AC21 and been working for over a year now. I still have good rapport with my primary Employer. Now I am scheduled to go to INDIA for few weeks, my question is " whom should I say is my Employer " if the immigration officer asks me at the port of entry (JFK). Please advise as I will be carrying my current pay stubs. I recently came back on AP through Atlanta. I have changed the employers and have not applied for AC21. In secondary inspections, I was asked about where I work and who sponsored it? I did tell the sponsor as my old employer and for where I work gave current employer's name. It should not be problem entering thru AP. Another person with AP was not even asked any questions and they just stamped it and gave it back. I am wondering if I could request USCIS to extend to me the same EAD Card benefit that applicants with a later priority date are enjoying. Is it something I can appeal to an immigration board or to an immigration court? I have been working in H1B since 1999. Would 11 years in H1B (and 3 years in F1 prior to that) carry any humanitarian consideration in a court of appeal? Birth certificate from Indian consulate is NOT acceptable as primary evidence. You can however submit it as secondary evidence. Primary evidence has to be the actual birth certificate. If that is not available or there are any differences, you should make 2 affidavits from parents or close relatives which basically confirms your actual name as in passport. The SOP --i.e. the step by step procedure given here in your 485 Stand Proc file (http://immigrationvoice.org/forum/attachment.php?attachmentid=138&d=1184798238) is badly outdated -- for example there is no mention of these horrifying name checks, how they are initiated, how they follow up(what is described there is the old version of background checks, none of that applies any more; the service center information is outdated etc etc.
